Vinothèque
Vinothèque is a large bonded warehouse which specialises in fine wines and is located in Burton-on-Trent in central England. With a total surface area of over 200,000 ft² over four floors, the capacity of the warehouse extends to over half a million cases of fine wine. So huge a volume of stock necessitates meticulous management, which is best facilitated by a reliable warehouse management system.
The Vinothèque warehouse is operated by London City Bond, who began using Vision software in early 2011 across several of their sites in order to simplify the huge task of managing their acres of stock. The company operate six sites across the country, all of which handle their stock movements independently while each maintaining records of the stock at the other sites. Vinothèque alone deal with over 60,000 receipts annually, so accurate communication of all stock movements is a priority.
Sales director David Hogg explains some of the key benefits of using Vision’s web-based software:
“One of the benefits we have in using Vision is that we can interact between our various sites. Previously each of our six sites operated totally independently and we spent a lot of time duplicating work when we moved stock between sites, but with Vision there’s a seamless transaction of stock between these various sites which gives us a huge saving in time and effort.”
The Vision software suite takes full advantage of its online capabilities, not only in making cross-site stock management incredibly user-friendly and easy to track, but also for providing detailed reports to both warehouse staff and their customers. Mr. Hogg goes on:
“With Vision, we have information available to us and to our customers in real time, which we see as a real benefit – especially for our overseas customers where there’s a time difference.”
